Hanging your metal sign

Please use caution when hanging your metal sign! Large signs can be heavy. Metal WORD Art is not responsible for improper hanging of your art so make sure your sign is securely anchored to your hanging surface. Signs may contain sharp edges so please keep away from children.

Hang your free-form design pieces with small nails at the loop in a word. This allows the art to hang against the wall without distracting from the message. Hardware is not included.

Hang your shaped pieces (rectangles, squares, etc.) with small nails through the holes located in the top corners at each side of the sign. If you do not want holes for hanging in your sign, please let us know at checkout. Hardware is not included.

Unfinished Signs

All UNFINISHED signs will eventually rust. It may be weeks or it may be months depending on the temperature and humidity where the sign is hung. The resulting patina can be quite beautiful and will support a more industrial look. If you want the unfinished look but do not want your sign to rust, a clear-coat protectant finish can be used.

If you choose to finish your sign yourself, first prepare the surface by wiping the sign with isopropyl alcohol. This will remove any dirt or fingerprints and assure the surface is clean and dry prior to applying the paint.
